I am a passionate naturopath, gut health specialist, speaker, writer, mentor, and mamma!

I know what it feels like to have gut issues. Many years of ongoing symptoms, testing, and visits to health professionals led me to become a naturopath and using naturopathic medicine like supplement therapy and herbal medicine to help my own gut health issues.

I am a Clinical Naturopath physician based in New Zealand and with years of experience in treating acute and chronic health conditions. I am an evidence-based practitioner, using only proven therapies and treatments for my clients. I specialize in inflammatory digestive and endocrine systems -related acute and chronic conditions.

With a family history of food allergies, my mission for my own health and of my family is to change the current path and prevent these diseases from occurring in future generations.

My mission is to support patients with gastrointestinal disorders and complaints, in particular inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), chronic reflux, chronic infections and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO).

Throughout my studies, I dedicated a significant amount of time focusing on the gastrointestinal system and the microbiome. Since then, I have undertaken further research in this area. I am constantly up-skilling and immersing myself in all areas and conditions relating to the gastrointestinal system, including reviewing research articles and participating in seminars and webinars across New Zealand.

While I believe in traditional naturopathic medicine, I focus on using evidence-based practices to maximize long-term health outcomes through individualized naturopathic care. My aim is to assist you in achieving your individual health goals.

Health does not have to be complicated. As a gut health and lifestyle coach, I believe in simplifying people’s lifestyles and creating habits and routines that will provide a foundation for long-term health.

I also believe in informing and empowering people/clients/patients to take control of their health, through education and proven holistic treatments that resolve the actual cause of any health condition.
Together with the client, we dig into the health issue and we find the cause rather than treating the symptom.

My Principles as a Practitioner:
– I treat the whole person from emotionally and physically sides
– A personalised approach and treatment plan – every single patient is unique!
–  Finding the cause of the health issue not masking the symptoms
– Educating and empowering people to take control of their health
– Using food as medicine and medicine as food
– Honesty and integrity – I do what I preach
– Clinical Testing and pathology: using and interpreting pathology test results for the diagnosis and monitoring treatment

For Business, Teams, Corporate or Groups:

What is Naturopathic Medicine?

A practitioner of naturopathic medicine aims to educate and empower your health issues and focuses on finding the underlying cause. The practitioner/naturopath will give you practical as well as medical advice on how you can treat your health problems. The integration of all types of medicine is respected and practised.

Naturopathic medicine traces its philosophy back to the Greek physician Hippocrates.  It is a system medicine which emphasises diagnosing the underlying cause of disease. It focuses on the improvement of health and prevention of disease. Hippocrates maintained that the body can heal itself if the right conditions are given – this includes but not limited a good nutrition and nutrients absorption, a balanced lifestyle by reducing stress with all its forms (nutritional, emotional and physical) and correcting any nutrients deficiency, just to name a few.

A naturopath is trained in anatomy and physiology (medical), herbal and nutritional medicine and uses various testing methods

Herbal Medicine

Using plants to heal goes back centuries with herbal medicine being an important part of most cultures’ medical systems. Therapeutic herbs will often stimulate the body’s own ability to fight infection, or correct an imbalance without the side effects.  Herbs can be used to treat all ages, improve detoxification, balance the homeostasis just to name few and can safely be used alongside pharmaceutical medication while under the care of a qualified naturopath.

Nutritional Medicine

The importance of a healthy diet cannot be accentuated enough. Any nutritional deficiency has a negative impact on overall health. Correcting nutritional deficiencies is a crucial part of any treatment plan therefore nutritional supplements are often prescribed to correct a deficiency. Education on food sources that contain specific nutrients and better intestinal absorption is always given in order to prevent deficiencies from developing again and ill health being present again.

Testing Methods

More details about the testing methods I offer can be found here.

The type of testing used will vary from person to person depending on their presenting health complaints and health history.

Allergy Testing and Why is Important?

A comprehensive food allergy blood test will offer to the client further details. This test is performed by Allergenics and a hair sample will be sent away. This type of testing will offer details about food and environmental allergies.
